2022 LEADERSHIP IN ACTION SUMMIT AT UCLA

Arrive on campus and check in. Meet your teacher leaders and join other students for ice-breakers while your family attends a brieforientation.

Enjoy the welcome dinner and Opening Address, and review the exciting week ahead.

Push your limits during a hands-on team-building experience. Get to know your team as you solve problems and overcome obstacles together.

Receive an introduction to intriguing patient case studies that you and your team will solve during the Summit.

Following your dreams takes persistence and grit. Fuel your passion when you hear from a motivational speaker.

Roll up your sleeves during a CPR workshop and earn your CPR certification from the American Red Cross.

Learn technical suturing skills from a surgeon, and put your skills into practice during a simulation.

Take part in an interactive workshop and learn about reflexes, cranial nerves and how to take blood pressure.

Hear from a panel of medical professionals about different professional paths you can take in the medical career, the residency process, and more.

Participate in a patient interviewing and examinations workshop, and learn how to research and analyze symptoms.

Dive into your case studies with your team. Hone in your new skills by examining clues about patient symptoms and learn how to provide an accurate diagnosis.

Visit the US Capitol, explore the National Mall and experience national memorials such as the Lincoln Memorial, Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial and the Franklin D. Roosevelt and Jefferson Memorials. Pay tribute to veterans at the National World War II Memorial, the Korean War Veterans Memorial and the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.

Visit the renowned National Museum of Health and Medicine, learn about the history and practice of American medicine, military medicine advances and current medical research.

It’s your time to shine! Present your case-study conclusions to a medical panel and your peers.

Explore Baltimore’s vibrant Inner Harbor and shop for mementos to remember your time in Baltimore.
